SideBySide hosted the charity movie screening of "My First of May" (無名指) on September 6, where event sponsors, SideBySide Benevolent Employers, Committee Members, Partners, and service users gathered to enjoy the film together. The event also featured special guests: Director and Screenplay Writer Mr. James Hung, along with cast members Ms. Natalie Hsu and Mr. Kenji Fan, who shared their creative inspirations and behind-the-scenes stories.
SideBySide Executive Committee Chairperson, The Hon. Mr. Justice POON Siu-tung, shared during the event that the choice to screen "My First of May" was due to its authentic portrayal of the conflicts and challenges between caregivers and those they care for, helping the public understand: "Love doesn’t need to be perfect; it grows slowly through flaws and acceptance." For over 60 years, SideBySide has championed "Everyone Deserves to Belong," not only supporting marginalized communities but also shining a light on the unsung efforts of caregivers. Through this film, we hope everyone can embody the spirit of "Understanding, Unwavering," extending understanding and care to both caregivers and those in need.
